A loan of $225 helped to purchase supplies that she needs for her business.

Demetria's story

Demetria, 43, lives in her own home with her husband and her daughter Margot, 7. Since she was very young, she has worked hard for the well-being of her family and has had a variety of jobs. Currently she sells condiments. This business generates the necessary economic income for her to provide a high quality of life to her family. She offers these condiments in a market that is near the area where she lives. She prepares various sauces and spices like ocopa (a spicy sauce made of peanuts, chili peppers, and herbs), chili sauces, ground garlic, and others. The housewives in the area prefer her and frequently acquire their sauces from her to prepare their food quickly.

She also sells various beauty products by catalog to her friends and people she knows. In the future, she wants to establish a more stable business and to administer it from her home. She feels at peace with her jobs because she wants to get ahead little by little. This is her second loan that she has had with Microfinanzas Prisma, and she promises to be very punctual with her repayments. She plans to invest the money from her credit in the purchase of a larger quantity of ingredients that she needs to make her condiments. She will also invest part of it in the purchase of beauty products that are on sale right now.
