A loan of $500 helps to buy ingredients, a stove, pots and takeaway packs to start selling prepacked food at the nearby school.

Terenga's story

Terenga was escorting her niece to school one day when she noticed that the school canteen did not sell home-cooked meals, but only junk foods instead.

It was then that she had an idea to sell food parcels at the local primary school.

She needs a loan to make this vision a reality as she will need to buy her own stove, pots, ingredients and takeaway packs.

With her home-cooked meals, she is content knowing that most of the children will have healthier meals while at school.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
