A loan helped to buy cordial to produce ice pops and boxes of ice cream to stock up her deep freezer to better provide for her customers and increase her income.

Marie Ange's story

Marie Ange is 26 years old, and she has four beautiful children of ages 8, 4 and twins of 2. She is happily married to a fisher who also travels with the Seasonal Workers Program in Australia. Her husband is currently still with her in Vanuatu.

She lives with her husband and children in a rural area district located just 10 minutes drive to Port Vila's international airport. Her community is very small, and the main industry is agriculture. It has been hard during this Covid-19 pandemic for one to earn a stable income.

Marie Ange has requested a loan so she can buy cordial to produce ice pops and boxes of ice cream so she can provide to her customers during this hot season. This will help increase her revenue, which she will use to pay for her children's education and also help her husband pay for a fishing net so that they can fish to sell.

This is Marie Ange's second loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has been faithful in repaying her previous loan on time. Through her loans, Marie Ange feels motivated to expand her business to become a successful businesswoman.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
