A loan helped a member buying a new donkey cart for hauling business.

Shahida Perveen's Group's story

Shahida perveen lives in a mid-sized city called Vehari Pakistan with her family. Her family consists of four persons: her husband, two sons and herself as well.

Her husband is a loader by profession. He uses a donkey cart to deliver items such as fruits & vegetables to designated places. He has been doing this work for over five years. Shahida also operates an animal food selling business. She prepares animal food by receiving orders from her neighbors because her community people are involved in livestock businesses. She and her husband both use their income to meet the expenses of the family and to improve their financial situation.

Shahida has applied for a loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute in Pakistan) for her husband. With the loan he will buy a new donkey cart because the old cart has become rough and rotted in different areas, causing its cargo to fall out. She is hopeful that the new donkey cart will help her husband do his work better and make better profits.

Note: she shows her cutter in this picture which helps her prepare animal food.
