Vigae Group's story

Hassan M., 41, is married with two children, ages 15 and 5 years old. He has owned a Genge business (grocery stall which sells Kiwahili fruits and vegetables) for 10 years. He works from 6 am to 11pm daily and he is able to make a monthly profit of about $201.

This will be Hassan’s first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He wants to get a loan to increase his Genge stock. EventuA. he hopes to buy a car, which will help him move his stock more easily, and also be useful for the family.

Hassan will share this loan with his loan group Vigae, which totals 17 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable in paying back the loan.
