Ana's story

Ana S. D. R. is a very hardworking and responsible woman. Though she is 71 years old, Ana works very hard, day after day, in order to obtain the income necessary to make ends meet. Ana lives with her husband, who is retired, and with her three grandchildren, who are 4, 9, and 18 years old. The grandchildren are in Ana's care, and they live all together in the municipality of Ilopango, located in the Department of San Salvador.

Ana makes her living by selling shoes for men, women, and children, as well as sandals for ladies. She sells these products both from her home and door-to-door, visiting various public sector companies where she has a lot of clients. Ana has been doing this work for several years, and, as a result, has a lot of clients whom she trusts completely; this allows Ana to sell her products not only for cash but also on credit, and this, in turn, enables Ana to buy more shoes.

Ana is seeking a loan in order to purchase a larger quantity of footwear in a variety of styles and colors. This would allow her to have more clients and thus greater income for her home. Ana is a very hardworking woman - despite her years, she wants to grow as a merchant and thus ensure that she has a stable and quiet life in her old age.
