A loan of $1,000 helped buy products to resell.

Marjorie Gisella's story

Marjorie, 25, lives in a suburb of Guayaquil called Orquideas (a name that comes from the fields of orquids that were once abundant here). She has operated a general business for some years and likes that she can provide a service to her customers.

She began selling bulk quantities of rice and slowly built her store, first at a space in her house and later in a separate space. She works for 8:00am to 10:00pm. She will use the loan to stock her business with vegetables and drinks.

In the future, she would like to finish building her house so that she can give her daughter a better life.
