Ecuador
Guayaquil (Orquideas), Ecuador / Furniture Making

A loan of $1,000 helped purchasing wood for his furniture making business.

Primitivo Baudillo's story

Primitivo is 56 years old and lives in the urban neighborhood of Las Orquídeas (“The Orchids”—the neighborhood was originally a field with many orchid flowers) in Guayaquil. He has 6 children and owns a furniture making business.

Primitivo has had his furniture making business for 15 years. He and his 9 employees build furniture in Primitivo’s house. Primitivo does not have a permanent place for his workshop, but for the past 15 years has worked in the entrance hall of his home making tables, chairs, armchairs, etc.

Now Primitivo wants to purchase wood so he can build more furniture for his business. In the future he wants to finish constructing his house, as it is currently made of bricks and reeds.
