A loan of $450 helped to buy chains, rings and earrings.

Rosario Katiuska's story

Rosario, 25, sells semi-precious jewelry such as earrings and chains. She has worked in this business for 3 years. She sells her products door-to-door in the neighborhood where she lives. Rosario has been married for 3 years. She has a son, and her husband is a bricklayer who works in various areas. He works from 8am until noon, or from 1pm until 5:30pm. At the current moment they rent an apartment. The loan she requests is to invest in her business. She buys her merchandise from a wholesaler in downtown Portoviejo. She buys on a cash basis, but she gives her customers credit, and her earnings are good. She invests according to what sells, or when her customers make orders. She goes out to sell in the morning, since that is when her son is in school. She says that the Fundación has helped her a lot, since she has been able to acquire many things, and when her husband is out of work she can help him financially. Rosario dreams of having her own home.
