A loan helped to buy a stock of provisions to sell.

Janet's story

48-year-old Janet is a resident of Suhum, in the eastern region of Ghana. She is married, with four children.

For 22 years now, her source of income is from the operation of a provision shop in the community. Her neighbours are able to get household consumables from her shop with ease and almost at any time of the day, as she opens her shop very early in the morning and closes late into the night. She is such a hardworking woman.

She is seeking financial assistance to buy a stock for the shop to meet the growing demands of her customers.

She looks forward to repaying the loan with profits from the business, while investing the remainder of her profits.

She is grateful in advance to generous Kiva supporters for coming into her aid.

This loan is special because:

It creates opportunity for rural businesses to access capital for growth
