A loan of $375 helps to buy another dairy cow to improve milk production and make more profit.

Olpha's story

Olpha (a repeat Kiva borrower) is a 49-year-old mother of four children living in Kenyenya. Kenyenya is a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. She is a vigilant woman who has been farming for the past 10 years. Through farming, she has given her children a better life.

Dairy farming is one of the most profitable business ventures in her remote village. Olpha is taking this loan to buy another dairy cow to improve milk production and make more profit.

She is hopeful that Kiva lenders will respond positively to her loan request.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
