A loan helped to invest in fertilizer, corn seedlings, and hog feed.

Jean's story

Jean is a 41-year-old married woman with two children ages nine and five years old. Ten years ago she started working in the field to help her husband in covering the needs and expenses of their children. She grows and sells corn. Also, she raises hogs as supplemental income.

She is a hard worker who is trying desperately to develop her business, but she is also a sacrificing mother who deprives herself for the sake of her children. She has requested a loan from Kiva's field partner CEVI that was used to invest in fertilizer, corn seedlings, and hog feed.

She hopes to expand her business to increase her income and improve her family's living conditions.
