A loan helped a member to stock up on pagne (traditional cloth) in bulk, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Furaha Group's story

Ms. Astride is a client of Hekima IMF and chairs the village group “Furaha”. She is married, 52 years old, and mother of 9 children, 5 who are in school and 4 are adults; her partner is a lawyer.
She is a pagne (traditional cloth) seller. She started this business 28 years ago with the start-up funds received from her husband. Later she involved the Hekima program to support her business, during which she gradually grew. With this new loan, she will buy pagne wholesale, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her business is linked to unpaid debts.
She would like her children to continue studying and to feed her family. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and their partners for the support provided to owners of non-cash-converting businesses in this context of the global Covid-19 crisis. The photo is only of the leader of the group because of Covid-19, in compliance with social distancing measures.
