The members of the BENKADI group are married women who, on average, are 39-years old and have 4 children. They live in polygamous families in HAMDALLAYE, a neighborhood of the city of Sikasso (3rd administrative region of Mali).
This is their fifth collaboration with the Soro Yiriwaso micro-finance organization to meet their customers’ needs. Past loans were repaid without incident.
The group sells condiments (such as peanut paste by KADIA S.), clothing and cereals, and also provides food services.
With her loan, KADIA S. plans to purchase 5 bags of peanuts to make peanut paste.
She gets her peanut stocks at the main market and in surrounding villages. The peanut paste is sold for cash or often on credit at the Hamdallaye market and to the families, to a customer base consisting of women.
She hopes to achieve an average monthly profit of 28.500 francs CFA, a portion of which to be used for the family’s expenses and the remaining portion to be invested in her commercial activities.
Her goal is to increase her sales so as to better serve her clientele.
Les membres du groupe BENKADI sont des femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 39 ans et 4 enfants. Elles vivent dans des familles polygames à HAMDALLAYE un des quartiers de la ville de Sikasso (3ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur cinquième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle, les prêts passés ont été bien remboursés
Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de condiments alimentaires (tels la pâte d’arachide avec KADIA S.), de l’habillement, des céréales et de la restauration.
KADIA S. compte acheter avec son prêt, 5 sacs d’arachide pour la fabrication de la pâte d’arachide.
Elle s’approvisionne en arachide au grand marché et dans les villages avoisinants. La pâte d’arachide est vendue au marché de Hamdallaye et en famille à une clientèle composée de femmes, au comptant et souvent à crédit.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 28.500FCFA dont une partie sera utilisée dans les dépenses de la famille et l’autre partie sera investie dans les activités.
Elle ambitionne d’augmenter son chiffre d’affaire pour mieux satisfaire sa clientèle.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
