A loan of $400 helped a member purchase of peanuts.

Benkadi Group's story

The members of the BENKADI group are married women who, on average, are 39-years old and have 4 children. They live in polygamous families in HAMDALLAYE, a neighborhood of the city of Sikasso (3rd administrative region of Mali).
This is their fifth collaboration with the Soro Yiriwaso micro-finance organization to meet their customers’ needs. Past loans were repaid without incident.
The group sells condiments (such as peanut paste by KADIA S.), clothing and cereals, and also provides food services.
With her loan, KADIA S. plans to purchase 5 bags of peanuts to make peanut paste.
She gets her peanut stocks at the main market and in surrounding villages. The peanut paste is sold for cash or often on credit at the Hamdallaye market and to the families, to a customer base consisting of women.
She hopes to achieve an average monthly profit of 28.500 francs CFA, a portion of which to be used for the family’s expenses and the remaining portion to be invested in her commercial activities.
Her goal is to increase her sales so as to better serve her clientele.
