A loan helped a member to buy 20 boxes of soap, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Mafanyikio Bora Group's story

Madam Monique is a client of the Hekima microfinance institution and presides over the Mafanyikio Bora village group. She is 42 years old, married, and has 6 children who are all in school. Her husband is a shopkeeper.

Madam Monique sells various products in a store and started this business 5 years ago with start-up capital from her husband. She later involved the Hekima programme to support her business, during which it gradually evolved. With this new loan, she will stock up on 20 boxes of soap, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her business is linked to the lack of goods.

She would like to continue being able to feed her family and wants her children to continue studying. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to owners of businesses that cannot be exchanged for cash in this global COVID-19 crisis. The photo is only of the group leader because of COVID-19 in compliance with social distancing measures.
