A loan helped a member to stock up on Primus, Simba and Amstel drinks to strengthen her initial capital.

Uzima Group's story

Nuru is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and presides over the Uzima groupe villageoise. She is divorced, thirty-four years old and the mother of three children who all attend school.

She sells drinks. She started this business thirteen years ago with start-up funds received from Hekima's program to support her business as it developed gradually. With this new loan, she will stock up on Primus, Simba and Amstel drinks to strengthen her initial capital. Her main business challenge is related to unpaid debts.

She would like her children to continue their studies and to buy a piece of land. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners without access to traditional banking services, especially during the global Covid-19 pandemic. The photo only shows the group leader due to Covid-19 social distancing regulations.
