A loan helped a member to buy ice cream of different flavors and various toppings.

La Esperanza Group's story

The group named “La Esperanza” is in its 21st loan cycle with the Women’s Committee Program. All of the members have committed to work and help one another so that they can move forward. They are also taking the poverty elimination survey so that they can become familiar with their living situations and work to make improvements.

Ana is one of the members. Through effort and sacrifice, she is able to support her family by selling ice cream. She says that she has an established clientele. Her sales are very good during the warm weather, so her goal is to continue her work and someday open a large retail shop.

Ana is requesting a loan to buy ice cream of various flavors, as well as toppings to serve with them. She is pleased to be part of this group since it will enable her to help her family.
