A loan of $1,000 helped invest in her business, and part of the loan for her education.

Rosa Magdalena's story

Rosa Magdalena A. C. is 19 years old, and she is single. She lives with her parents in the San Miguel canton in the Bolívar province.

Rosa is a member of the Santiagopamba Communal Bank, which is a half hour from the town of San Miguel. The communal bank is mostly made up of people who devote themselves to agriculture as the main source of income for their families.

Rosa works in the vegetable business, and she goes to school at the same time. She buys in the Riobamba markets (over three hours away), and she sells in Chillanes (over one hour away).

She is requesting a loan to invest in her business. She will use some of it for her education. The loan will help her increase her business.

Her goal is to finish her studies and to continue with the business. The challenges that face her are the competition and that the products are very expensive.

She likes the festivals in the Chillanes market, and she likes to play soccer.
