A loan helped a member to purchase beans, flour, fruit, and sugar.

Nshobole Group's story

Madame Vumilia is a client of microfinance institution Hekima and leads the Nshobole Group. She is 47 years old, married, and has 7 children who are all in school. Her partner is a merchant.

Vumilia started her business selling food items 20 years ago with startup funds from her husband. Later, she partnered with Hekima to support her business, and it has grown steadily ever since. With this new loan, she will buy beans, flour, fruit, and sugar, which will increase her working capital. Her business's main challenge is related to poor road conditions.

Vumilia would like for her children to continue their studies and to build a home. She thanks Hekima and its partners for the support they give to owners of non-bankable businesses during the Covid-19 global crisis. Only the group leader is shown in the photo due to social distancing measures.

In this group: Vumilia, Siyapata, David, Jeanette, Adela, Furaha, Chiza, Nathalie, Anuarite, Jeanine, Hortense, Venancia, Esther, Salome, Sarah
