A loan of $450 helped a member to buy more gallons of oil, salt, onions and rice.

Success Group's story

Annie N., who is holding the sign, is the leader of a group of five borrowers called Success. She is 36 years old, married and has five children, who range from 3 to 19 years old. She was only able to attend school through 6th grade due to financial constraints. All of her children are attending school.

For more than six years, she has been selling oil, salt and onions at VOA Market, outside of Monrovia, Liberia.

She plans to use her 6,000-Liberian-Dollar portion of this 30,000-Liberian-Dollar group loan to buy more gallons of oil, salt, onions and rice. She describes herself as a quiet woman.

Her plan is to improve her business and move from selling on a table to a shop.
