Togetherness Group's story

Beatrice B., who is holding the sign, is the leader of this group of five borrowers called Togetherness. She is 42 years old, married, and has six children who range from 9 to 26 years old. She was only able to attend school through 7th grade due to poverty but all of her children are attending school.

For ten years, Beatrice has been operating a tailoring shop where she sews garments and children’s clothes at Red Light Market, Paynesville, outside of Monrovia, Liberia.

Beatrice plans to use her 20,000 Liberian dollar portion of this 72,000 Liberian dollar group loan to buy more cloth to sew more garments and children’s clothes. She describes herself as a hardworking woman.

Beatrice’s goal is to improve her business, build a house, and educate her children so that they can have a better future.
