Destiny Women Group's story

Kemah Togba, who is holding the sign, is the leader of a group of five borrowers called Destiny Women. She is 60 years old, widowed and has nine children, who range from 22 to 41 years old. She was only able to attend school through 12th grade due to poverty.

For more than 10 years, she has been selling used clothes and shoes at Red Light Market in Paynesville, outside of Monrovia, Liberia.

She plans to use her 6,000-Liberian-Dollar portion of this 30,000-Liberian-Dollar group loan to buy more used clothes and shoes. She describes herself as a hardworking woman.

Her goal is to improve and expand her business and open many shops.
