Sope Serigne Fallou/ndoffene Group's story

The borrowing group "Sope Erigne Fallou" of the NDOFFENE1 Village Bank consists of 11 women, all from the same village. They created their group through links of kinship and affinity after the establishment of their Village Bank in 2007. In the group are women of different ages (between 35 and 50). They are all married and mothers of at least 3 children. Their main activities are beef fattening and/or sheep fattening. As a secondary activity they have small local grain businesses. The proximity of the weekly markets facilitates the sales of their products.
The head of the group is Mrs. Nar N., standing in the right of the photo in the full yellow robe with flowers. She is 58; married and a mother of 7 children. She fattens sheep and sells millet and groundnut oil that she prepares by hand. Her new loan will allow her to strengthen her business in order to obtain more earnings which will contribute to the improvement of her family's living conditions, such as food and health.
