A loan helped a member to buy cost-efficient maize seeds and fertilizer for the coming harvesting season.

Isaac's Group's story

Pictured above is Isaac, who, as a group leader, is representing his group formed by nine farmers in Teso district, Kenya. He is a father to eight children and is known by his community as a very trustworthy person.

Initially, Isaac joined One Acre Fund in 2012 because he wanted to have access to the best seed prices. Since he joined the program he says that his life has improved, especially because he has been able to consistently feed his family. With the profits from the coming harvesting season, Isaac plans to send his children to school. Between the nine farmers in Isaac's Group, a total of 8.5 acres of land will be planted using the maize seeds and fertilizer received with the loan.
