A loan helped to buy dairy cows to increase the amount of milk she sells.

Kuljamal's story

This wonderful woman is Kuljamal. She is 66 years old and her children are all grown up with children of their own. She has a secondary-level education. Kuljamal has been raising livestock and growing crops since 1993, and this is her family's primary source of income. Thanks to her hard work and her husband's help on the farm, Kuljamal now has 4 cows, 20 sheep and 4 horses.

In order to further develop her business, Kuljamal is asking Kiva for a loan of 250,000 som. She will use the money to buy cattle to increase her income from the sale of organic milk. The profit from the loan will help her to expand her business by buying more cattle.

Translated from Russian by Kiva volunteer Robin Munby.

This loan is special because:

It supports organic farming and includes a lower interest rate.
