A loan helped to pay for building a safe latrine and pay for land filling to cover the mud around her house.

Sokhea's story

Sokhea is 39 years old, married, has two children and lives in the Bakan district of Pursat province, Cambodia. As a responsible mother, she works hard every day to generate income with her husband so that they can cover their family members' daily costs and send their children to school.

Sokhea and her husband work as construction workers in their community with their team, providing this service to customers. With her perseverance, she plans to educate her children up to college because she wants to see her children become professionals one day.

Due to her shortage of finances, she has applied for a loan in the amount of USD 2,000 to pay for building a safe latrine and pay for land filling to cover the mud around her house. In this way, she hopes to increase the value of her home, improve sanitation, ensure healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family, and protect the environment.

With this loan support, she will be able to purchase construction supplies, such as bricks and cement, to build a safe latrine and pay for labor. Sokhea sends thanks to all lenders for contributing funds to help poor people like her.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to clean, renewable energy sources, like solar and biogas.
