Sofia's story

Sofia is married with four children. All of her children are in school. Sofia also looks after other family members. Sofia resides in and owns a three-room house, and her family has access to electricity and piped water. Sofia's main monthly expense is school fees.

Formerly, Sofia dealt in charcoal, but she changed her business to a retail shop. She has been in this business for a few months. Her customers are the local people. Sofia plans to use this loan to buy more merchandise, such as bags of sugar, cartons of salt, boxes of soap, and cooking oil.

Sofia works seven days a week. She depends on this job to make a living. Sofia aspires to begin selling by wholesale only. She decided to work with MCDT in order to acquire more capital for her business.
