A loan of $675 helped to pay school fees for her children.

Evelyn's story

Evelyn is a 39-year-old woman living in Masindi, Uganda. She is married with four children and looks after a family of eight people. She dreams of educating her children and also accumulating wealth so as to become a rich lady.

Evelyn operates a retail shop in which she sells sugar, salt and rice. She would like to have it as a wholesale shop one day with big business volumes. She says she can achieve that feat because even the retail shop she operates was started with a small amount of capital, but it has now grown over the ten years she has operated it.

For now though, Evelyn has a challenge of taking her children back to school in terms of the school requirements. She intends to use the loan funds to pay school fees for her children.
