A loan of $1,300 helps to buy supplies like food and bowls to prepare food.

Mariana Elena's story

Mariana Elena, age 50, is in a common-law marriage. She has two children, ages 34 and 25. Her husband is a merchant. They live in Jipijapa, a place with beautiful scenery and hard-working people. The city was hit hard by the health emergency caused by the pandemic.

She is a hard-working woman who likes to help her husband with the household expenses. Some years ago she started a business of selling food at the city market. She starts her work very early by selling breakfasts. At the start of the health emergency she was only allowed to open her business once a week.

This caused her losses. However, she prepared the food at home, and she delivered only by order. It was this way until, at last, she was able to open her place and sell her delicacies. She hopes that things continue on in this way.

This loan is to buy supplies like food and bowls to make the food. She will also buy other things needed for her business.
