A loan of $1,100 helps to buy pants, tops, shirts, and children's clothing.

Maria Datila's story

58-year old Maria Datila is married and her children are already adults. Her husband is a fisherman, and they live in the town of Puerto López where the local people earn their living from tourism and fishing, both of which are severely affected by Covid-19.

Maria Datila is a hardworking woman who is seeking a way to help her husband, now more than ever because of the health emergency. He hardly has any work so she has to help them get ahead. She sells clothing. Before the pandemic she went out to make sales in the town. Now she only sells by telephone and in her house. Despite her fear of falling ill, she is continuing and is managing to earn something. This enables them to carry on and hope for better days.

This loan will be used to buy pants, tops, shirts, and children's clothing.
