A loan of $900 helped purchase of clothing merchandise.

Martha's story

Martha is 55 years old. She is a single mother and has three children who are already grown and independent. She lives in her own home in the town of San Francisco, located in the beautiful rain forest near the city of Ayacucho.

Ever since she was very young, Martha was always restless - she never liked to sit around and do nothing. Whenever she could, she helped her parents with household work. Today, Martha works in clothing sales; she has been in this business for 25 years. She remembers that starting out during her first year was difficult, but, as time when by, she was able to break even, and later her earnings grew.

Martha feels very happy with what she has been able to achieve. For this reason, she is hopeful that she'll be able to expand her clothing store, with the end goal of achieving a position in the market.

Martha usually works on her own with occasional help from her family. This is her third loan with MFP, and she promises to repay it in a timely manner. Furthermore, she feels very committed to her community group since all her partners inspire punctuality and solidarity. Martha will use the loan to purchase additional merchandise, with the objective of increasing her income and improving her quality of life.
