A loan of $300 helped to buy gold for jewelery-making.

Edwin Alejandro's story

Edwin Alejandro is 29 years old and lives in El Transito, in the department of San Miguel. He lives with his partner and their two year-old son. Edwin has a jewelery business where he buys, makes, and sells pieces made of gold and silver. Edwin runs the business with his cousin, who helps him with the work. He has had this business and worked from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for three years, thanks to his father, who taught him this line of work.

With the profits from his business, Edwin has been able to get enough money together to rent a space where he can serve his customers. He currently feels it is necessary to request a loan for the first time. He is requesting $300 in order to purchase gold and continue creating the pieces his customers request.

Edwin is a person who enjoys his work and makes excellent pieces of gold jewelery. He dreams of having his own house where he can live with his young family, improve their quality of life, and meet the basic needs of their home.
