A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve her crop production.

Doreen's story

Doreen is a 32-year-old mother and a hardworking woman who lives in Meru, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes in Kenya. She has practiced crop and dairy farming for the past few years, thus enabling her to support her family. Doreen is seeking a loan to buy farming inputs that she will use to improve her crop production and earn more income to support her family.

She is hopeful that as the world struggles to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, Kiva lenders will be inspired to support her with a loan.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
