A loan of $375 helped to buy ingredients for her dishes and to remodel her sales stand.

Rocio's story

Rocío, 25, shares her life with her husband, Joel, 28 and their three children; they all live together in their own house. She sells prepared meals in a stand she has near a bus stop. Her menu includes a variety of dishes like: grilled sausage with mayonnaise, stuffed potatoes, anticuchos (grilled, skewered beef heart).

Rocío is very happy with her work because it provides enough income to meet household expenses since her husband’s earnings as a laborer are often insufficient. She trusts that both will be able to make progress and she knows that they will if she works to bring extra income into the home.

Her greatest wish is to buy a stand in a busy market so that she can have more customers and increase sales.

This is her 1st loan with MFP and she pledges to repay in a timely fashion. She will use the requested funds to buy larger amounts of ingredients for her dishes as well as to remodel her stand so that it will be more comfortable for her customers.
