A loan of $1,200 helped to buy one head of cattle.

Maria Elisa's story

María Elisa is 31 years old, she lives with her partner and has a 10 year-old son who goes to school. The economic resources of this family are not many: in fact, as they don’t have a place of their own, they have to live at her parents’ house, that they will inherit in the future. María Elisa lives in the town of Cochabamba, in the Chinchilla community, half-an-hour away from the city. Her main activity is the production of raw milk, that she then brings to a dairy products factory. She now owns 5 heads of cattle, all in the production phase. Her husband works as a driver for a person who sells aggregates. The loan she is requesting will be used to buy one head of cattle in order to increase her production and consequently improve her income. One of her dreams and aims is to increase the milk production and to own a small farm of at least 20 heads of cattle; her husband wishes to own a vehicle of his own and to work independently in the same business of his current employer. They main goal is to build a new and wider room in the old house her parents will leave them.
