Editha's story

Editha T., 52, is from the town of Fugu Jones. She is married and has three adult-aged children. To make a living, Editha owns and operates a business venture in the agriculture sector raising livestock. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes primarily from raising pigs for fattening and sale. Editha has been engaged in her business for over 10 years and earns approximately 4,000 PHP a month from these activities. In 2009, Editha joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Editha has successfully repaid a previous loan of 9,000 PHP from ASKI. This previous loan was used to purchase livestock feed & other supplies. Editha is requesting a new loan of 7,000 PHP to purchase livestock feed & other supplies. This loan will be the third loan taken out by Editha from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to expand her business. About ASKI: ASKI is one of the most successful microfinance institutions in the Philippines. It has 29 branches covering the Central and Northeastern areas.
