Hilda Florencia's story

Miss Hilda Illescas is a member of the San José community bank. She lives in the community of Inga Pirca, which belongs to the parish of Santa Ana. This parish is known for its people who work primarily in agriculture and livestock. Many of the inhabitants go to the city in search of better work opportunities, where they do work in construction and housekeeping. Our member is 29 years old, and she lives in a common-law marriage. They have one child who is 9 years old and studies in the local school. Her husband is an instructor for bricklaying and with their combined work they have bought a house. Miss Hilda works cleaning houses in the city of Cuenca. She works from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays until noon. She has worked in this way for 15 years. She has been a member of the community bank for 2 years. She was invited by her mom and the loans have helped her improve her home. She is going to use her new loan from the ESPOIR foundation to purchase chicken and begin with this lucrative business.
