Fisi'ilose's story

Fisi'ilose is a weaver. Her weaving helps her husband to provide for their family. Fisi'ilose and her husband have two children and they are from the island of Vava'u. She weaves taovala, mats and fihu to sell at the local market or ship to the mainland Tonga or their relatives overseas. Fisi'ilose has been weaving for a few years, and her weaving contributes a lot to her family's income. Her business was affected by the cyclone came to Tonga in April, but Fisi'ilose was able to recover her business damages and continue.

Fisi'ilose is applying for a loan to help hire two women to help with her weaving business. She hopes to use her loan to have a new house for her family. Currently, Fisi'ilose's family lies in just one bedroom house and she would like a a bigger house for her children to grow up in.
