A loan helped a member to increase her capital for selling handmade clothing.

Santa Lucia Group's story

The 05 Santa Lucía communal bank, as part of the branch, is made up of 11 members who are all neighbors. There's a board of directors of which Silvia is the president, Rosario the treasurer, and Noemí the recording secretary.

Sabina, 56, is married; she has eight children. She has a business selling handmade clothing and has worked in the business for 10 years.

She's going to invest her loan in her business so she can expand her merchandise. That way she helps her children financially to get them ahead and so they can be professionals and have economic stability.

The woman mentioned that her children are her motivation for making progress and fighting every day to achieve her dream, which is to have her own handmade clothing store and to increase her income.

Note: There are only three people in the photo for reasons of biosafety.
