A loan helped to purchase more flour, sugar and other ingredients that will be used to bake bread, cookies and donuts to sell.

Gloria's story

This is 44 year-old Gloria, from Liberia. She is a married mother with four children who live at home. Gloria attended school up to 7th grade.

Gloria runs a business where she bakes bread, cookies and also sells donuts. She started to sell with her own savings. For the past six years, Gloria has been managing her sales and sells Monday through Saturday.

Gloria likes her business because it provides her children with basic needs and sends them to school.

Gloria requested this loan through BRAC Liberia to purchase more flour, sugar and other ingredients that will be used to bake bread, cookies and donuts to sell to her good clients.

In the future Gloria would like to give her children a good education and build a house for them. Gloria is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
