Gaviotas De Chuixac Group's story

Mrs Miriam Yaneth Jiménez Rodriguez earns her living by selling food every day on the square. She realised that by selling food she was able to support her family and cover her household expenses, so she set up a group for mutual support. The group has eighteen members, all of them women, whose different activities incluD. livestock rearing, sale of clothing and sale of consumer goods.

The members of the “Gaviotas D. Chuixac” group loan live in Paraje Chuixac Barrio Santa Ana, Momostenango. The women, who have known each other for over twelve years, request a loan through ASDIR to improve their living conditions and those of their families. They are low-income individuals and the loan will enable them to expand their business capitals, increase sales and improve their incomes.
