A loan of $3,850 helps a member to purchase pagnes in bulk, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Salama Group's story

Appoline is a client with the MFI Hekima and runs the village group "Salama." She is married, 40 years old, and mother to 4 children who are all in school. Her husband is a driver.

She sells pagnes (traditional cloth wraps). She started this business 12 years ago with start-up funds from Hekmia to support her business, which has grown steadily. With this new loan, she is going to buy pagnes in bulk, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge her business faces is linked to unpaid debts.

She would like her children to continue to study and to feed her family.

Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to business owners without access to traditional banking facilities in this global crisis related to COVID-19. The photo is of only the group leader because of COVID-19.

In this group: Anna, Jacqueline, Grace, Immaculee, Helene, Elysee, Appoline, Mukesha, Cecile, Regine, Kikuni, Chantal, Daniel, Chantal, Claudine, Marie Jules, Etienne, Eve, Martha, Kawete, Archillene, Jeanine, Chantal
