A loan of $6,600 helps a member to purchase pagnes in bulk, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Heshima Group's story

Eliza is a client with the MFI Hekima and runs the village group "Heshima." She is married, 43 years old, and a mother of 8 children, 6 of whom are in school. Her partner is unemployed.

She sells pagnes (traditional cloth wraps). She started this business 8 years ago with start-up fund from her husband. Later, she became involved with Hekima to support her business, which has grown steadily. With this new loan, she will purchase pagnes in bulk, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge her business faces is a lack of customers.

She would like her children to continue studying and to purchase a plot. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to business owners without access to banking facilities in the context of this global crisis related to COVID-19. The photo is only of the group leader because of COVID-19.

In this group: Eliza, Pascasie, Vianney, Odette, Innocent, Felix, Esperance, Sekanabo, Rebecca, Anonciate, Ahadi, Olivier, Melania, Anges, Dieu Veut, Alliance, Habimana, Abigaelle, Masika, Jeanette
