A loan of $1,000 helped to buy additional products for her grocery business and purchase a new taxi for her husband's business.

Ou's story

Mrs. Ou L., age 42, is a market vendor selling grocery products to earn about $3 per day in revenue. Her husband is a taxi driver earning about $5 per day in revenue. They have four children, two of whom are students and two of whom are married and no longer living at home.

In order to expand her business to meet customer demand, Mrs. Ou L. would like to borrow $1000 to purchase additional grocery products for her stand. She will also use part of the loan to finance the purchase of another taxi for her husband to drive, to replace the old car he was using. She is pictured here with one of her daughters.
