A loan of $1,000 helps to purchase soil amendments, fertilizers, and other agricultural supplies.

Delia Gisel's story

Delia is a humble rural woman of character, enthusiastic and hardworking. She lives with her mother and grandmother in the sector of Quinshull, a community in the parish of El Chical. This sector is quintessentially agricultural and the people work growing tropical fruits.

Delia and her mother go out to work as day laborers in the crops of the zone and plant naranjilla on the land near their house. Every day, she gets up very early to be able to care for her animals and her own crops to then go out to harvest plantains and passion fruit, since this is what brings sustenance to her household.

Delia is grateful to the Kiva organization for the help received since, with this, she has boosted the different agricultural work she does. Delia asks for a loan to boost her planting and, with this, to purchase soil amendments, fertilizers, and other agricultural supplies. In this way, she will be able to maintain a good yield of her crops in addition to her crops coming out healthy.
