Soklim's story

Soklim, age 33, is married and has two children who're attending school. She lives with her family in the area of Sang District, Kandal Province. She has an occupation as chef in a small restaurant and she can earn approximately USD 6 per day.

She pays attention to her task and takes very seriously her responsibility such as checking the freshness of food and ingredients, supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and other food preparation workers, developing recipes and determining how to present dishes, planning menus, and ensuring the quality of meals. She also has good characteristics of a successful chef such as organizational skills, willingness to accept criticism, ability to handle high-stress environments, curiosity and a desire to learn more, and creativity.

As of now, she is requesting a loan to build a safe latrine at home. In this way she hopes to increase the value of her home, improve sanitation, ensure healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family, and protect the environment.

With this loan support, she will be able to purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement to build a safe latrine and pay for labor cost. She can save some money for use in future needs.
