A loan helped to purchase water, filters, purifiers etc.

Edinson's story

63-year old Sr. Edinson runs a small business. He lives with his family in the municipality of Turbaco. This entrepreneur is an example of dedication and cooperation. He works hard at his business in order to generate an income and contribute to the household. He collects, treats, and distributes water.

Edinson is a person who enjoys supporting the development of his community so he had this idea for a business. It also contributes to the environment. He realized that in his community there was an unsatisfied need as the water wasn't drinkable, and local people had to buy purified water to drink. Edinson has knowledge and more than fifteen years' experience in the process of purifying water and making it potable. The business has been very profitable and he has obtained excellent results. His main customers are the public in general.

Edinson is looking for a way to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and reactivate his business. He has joined the 'Cartagena Responde' program led by the municipality of Cartagena and is seeking his first loan through Kiva and the Santo Domingo Foundation to invest in the purchase of water, filters, purifiers etc. He needs an injection of capital so he can fill the orders of his customers. The loan will provide him with more working capital, leading to increased sales and profit.

Please help Edinson. His business will be successful.
