A loan of $1,200 helps to buy a cow.

Maria Del Carmen's story

Maria has lived her whole life in the country. She doesn't know any way of living other than doing agricultural work. She is a single woman who is dedicated to her work and the care of her parents, since they are elderly.

Maria wants to continue working hard. To do this, she is applying for a loan that will allow her to buy a cow with which she will be able to continue producing milk for sale.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Pam McMurry.

This loan is special because:

It aims to reach vulnerable refugee populations in an isolated region.
