Dioscora S. is a 39-year-old married woman who lives in Barangay Vito, Sagay City, Negros Occidental. She earns her living by fishing. Her husband, Hedrito, who is 43 years old, is a fisherman and they have four adult children.

Dioscora joined NWTF-Project Dungganon (NWTF-PD) in 2008 in the hope that she would be able to help her husband improve the quality of life of their family. With the help of her loans from NWTF-PD she has been able to increase their family income by engaging in a fishing business. Now she earns an average monthly income of Php 8,000 from her business activities.

Dioscora is a member of good standing. Her previous loan of Php 13,000 was used to fund operations of her fishing business and it had a positive impact on both the business and on her family’s living conditions. Now she is borrowing Php 15,000 for her 5th loan which she intends to use to fund her fishing activities.

Dioscora is working hard to achieve her dreams and aspirations for her family, which are to provide them with a brighter future and a more comfortable life.
