A loan helped a member to raise livestock.

09_Gpf Sope Dabakh Ngomene Group's story

This group of nine women was established in March 2019. The members live in the same village and have good relationships, especially through their tontines. Their main business is raising livestock.

Mrs. Yarame, who's raising her hand in the photograph, is the featured borrower. She's 61 years old and the mother of six children. She raises livestock. This loan will enable her to buy oxen in the weekly fairs. She will then fatten them during five months with cattle feed.

The animals will be sold at maturity to local butchers and merchants. The profits will enable her to repay the loan, increase her savings and provide for herself and her family.

In this group: Marieme, Tabaski, Yarame, Fati, Elisa, Coura, Fatou, Yombe, Yacine
